FAQs

Application questions
Can I send my CV / resumé instead of registering online?

No. To make the application process fair and consistent, all applications must be made online via this website. We don’t accept any other form of application.

How long does it take to apply on line?

Your initial application should take less than 30 minutes to complete. You may find it useful to have an electronic copy of your CV / resumé to hand so you can copy and paste the relevant parts into your application.

I have applied to Barclays Wealth/Barclays Capital before. Can I reapply?

If you have previously applied to Barclays Wealth/Barclays Capital you may reapply. You must submit a new application and provide details of any previous applications. Please note that you can only apply once in each year and we have mechanisms in place to detect multiple and duplicate applications.

Could you please send me a brochure about Barclays Wealth?

We don’t send out brochures as all the relevant information is covered on this site. To make sure you have all the information you need, we are also holding presentations at a number of campuses. Please check with your Careers Service for details – please note that some of these events (particularly careers fairs) may often be co-promoted with Barclays Capital.

I’ve made an error on my application. What should I do?

To make it easy for you and us, you can use your username and password to access your data, and edit your personal details section. We will only accept one application per candidate and have mechanisms in place to detect multiple and duplicate applications.

I have recently changed my email address. How can I update my details?

You can use your username and password to access your data and edit your application. Please note that your username will remain as your original email address.

My circumstances have changed. How do I remove myself from the application process?

Please withdraw your application using the online system.

If Barclays Wealth does not visit my campus, will my application still be considered?

Yes. Anyone can apply and all applications are considered against the same criteria, regardless of which university you attend.

What should I do if I have a disability that may affect my performance at any stage of the recruitment process?

Barclays Wealth is committed to Equal Opportunity Employment. We will make reasonable adjustments to the selection process where necessary. If you think you have a disability that may impact on your performance anywhere in the selection process, please contact us ( campus.recruitment@barclayscapital.com ) to discuss your personal circumstances.

Can I defer my place for a year?

No, you should only apply if you are ready to take up employment in 2009.

When will I meet someone from the business?

Depending on your university, you may meet someone from the business at a recruiting event, or as part of the selection process.

Can I work outside my country of study / residence?
